Samsung launch Refurb phones service in the UK France and Germany
Garry ClarkI am always one for a bargain and nothing is better than getting a bargain when it comes to tech. In order to stay in touch with the ever moving wheels of tech I tend too switch up my personal phone a few times a year.
This as you can imagine can prove costly especially when your preferred flavour of phones is of the flagship variety. The good news is we have various different forums such as the the Excellent Average Dad Buying and selling group that is available to Buy me a Coffee members. Then there are also the refurb sites such as Music Magpie and Backmarket, these are great options which give you the reassurance of a warranty. I have however always been a bit wary of these sites as you don't really know the quality of the product or who it was refurbished by was it a approved refurb agent or not.
Well the good news is that Samsung ha e now stepped into the ring alongside Honor to provide their own refurb solution direct from the source. As of today you can now purchase a refurbished S25 series device direct from Samsung. So what do they provide as an incentive to buy from them over the others. Well first thing first is that it has been repaired to the standards laid out for Certified Re-Newed devices undergo an in-house expert inspection and refurbishment process, which includes rigorous cleaning and more than 100 quality tests. The devices will also get the same warranty as a new device which is 24 months much more than offered from non affiliated refurb providers.
Samsung Expands Certified Re-Newed Program to the UK, France and Germany
Following launches in the U.S. and South Korea, Samsung’s manufacturer-certified refurbished devices are now more widely available at an affordable price with trusted performance, quality and warranty
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it has expanded the availability of its Certified Re-Newed (CRN) program to select markets. By providing high-quality renewed Galaxy devices backed by trusted certification, the program makes Samsung Galaxy flagship devices more accessible to consumers while underscoring Samsung’s ongoing commitment to the circular economy.
“We’re excited to expand our Certified Re-Newed program in European markets to provide customers with more options for purchasing flagship devices,” said Jun Kim, EVP and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “While contributing to the circular economy, we hope more customers can experience our latest innovations, including Galaxy AI.”
Samsung’s Trusted Quality Standards Behind Every Device
Starting with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung offers Certified Re-Newed Galaxy flagship devices in the UK and Germany, and Refurbished Premium by Samsung (Reconditionné Premium par Samsung) devices in France.
Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed devices undergo an in-house expert inspection and refurbishment process, which includes rigorous cleaning and more than 100 quality tests. In the UK, France and Germany consistent quality is ensured by limiting eligibility for the CRN manufacturing process to top-grade returned products only. Each device is reconditioned to look and perform to Samsung’s high standards using genuine Samsung parts [1].
During the restoration process, all devices are reset to delete personal data and ensure they are sold in a condition equivalent to that of a brand-new device[2]. After refurbishment, CRN devices are packaged in a new box made from recyclable materials and include the same in-box items as a new device.
CRN devices come with the same warranty as new Galaxy devices, distinguishing them from third-party refurbished or secondhand devices.[3] Additionally, devices sold in the UK, France and Germany are issued new IMEI numbers and updated with the latest software to ensure security and long-term usability.
Beginning January 19th, customers in the UK may also enroll in Samsung Care+ [4] for added protection and longevity benefits.
Samsung will continue to introduce the program to additional markets based on market demand and consumer needs.
