OnePlus release more details about upcoming devices
OnePlus are gearing up for their release of their new devices in a few weeks’ time. We are expecting to see the new OnePlus 15R, a OnePlus Pad Go 2, and the OnePlus Watch Lite. I have already shared some details in a previous article.
Today we have had a few more details from the guys over at OnePlus about the phone, tablet, and watch. Let’s take some time to dive in and have a look.
OnePlus 15R
The phone is going to feature the biggest battery that they have released to date at a massive 7400mAh. It will, however, charge slightly slower at 80W SUPERVOOC charging. The battery is, of course, a silicone carbon cell design with 15% silicone content in the anode, providing excellent energy density for the pack size. It is really the way forward.
In terms of the display, it is again a large panel at over 6.5" (actual size still to be confirmed) with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It is an AMOLED unit as you would expect from OnePlus and should give a similar experience to what has been seen on the OnePlus 15. The screen has a peak brightness level of 1800 nits, which can vary from 2 nits (1 nit in Reduced White Point mode) all the way up to the max 1800 nits level. In addition, the display is backed by TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification, making the content look glorious whilst looking after your eyes. All in, it is stacking up to be a really good display.
Next up, we have the chipset, which is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform. OnePlus is the first phone in the global market to have this onboard, and as such, there was some co-development between OnePlus and Qualcomm. This development was done over the last 24 months and ensures that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is the perfect chipset for the OnePlus 15R.
Last but not least, the 15R will also support Plus Mind, which is now becoming standard on all OnePlus mobiles these days. This is actioned by the Plus Key, which is a tap away. This will collate screenshots and voice notes and then store them securely on the device, ensuring that it is safe. Plus Mind will work with Ai to analyse the screenshots and then use the information to create useful content . An example would be taking a screenshot of a flyer from Facebook, and then Plus Mind can use that to create a calendar event using the information from the image, very clever indeed.
Moving onto the OnePlus Pad Go 2
This new tablet is built on the back of the OnePlus Pad Go from 2023. The tablet is now going to be powered by the Mediatek 7300 Ultra octa-core chipset, which is based on a 4nm process. It will deliver powerful and reliably smooth performance from your first day to your last (it has been tested for TÜV SÜD Fluency for up to four years).
It has a bigger battery at 10,050 mAh, and this will support 33W SUPERVOOC charging, giving 15 hours of video playback and 53 hours of music playback. If you leave it in standby, it will last 60 full days. Due to the capacity being plentiful, the tablet can also pull double duty as a power bank, allowing you to charge other devices while on the go!
For the display, we now have a 12.1" panel with 284 PPI, 900 nits HBM brightness, and 98% DCI-P3 colour coverage. The aspect ratio of 7:5 is very useful for having two apps open on either side, allowing for smooth and simple multitasking, especially with the addition of Open Canvas as the base to allow multitasking. As you would expect, like the OnePlus 15R, the tablet will also have TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 4.0 certification on board to keep it safe for your eyes.
OnePlus has also developed a new stylus for the OnePlus Pad Go 2 in the form of the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo. This is the first stylus designed for the OnePlus Pad Go series. This will help with productivity tasks and also makes the tablet great for using with kids on things like homework, etc. The Stylo is equipped with superfast charging technology, meaning that 10 mins from 0% will give enough power to use it continuously for half a day of writing and drawing.

Now it is the turn of the OnePlus Watch Lite
The OnePlus Watch Lite is going to feature a impressive 3000 nits brightness on its 1.46" AMOLED display meaning that it will be great for using outside even in direct sunlight. it can also be used when you have wet fingers or the display is wet due to the new Aqua Touch technology, great for even the sweatiest of workouts.
All the new devices will be officially launched on December the 17th when they will officially be launched.
