Apple's Next Big Drop: iPhone 17e, M5 MacBooks, and the Return of the Tiny 12" MacBook?!

Apple has announced the date for their next product launch, and it is going to be soon. While the world keeps spinning, the tech companies are starting to get busy. Never one to ignore a bit of easy publicity, Apple has started to advertise its next product launch.

Now, before we all get a bit too excited, this is not going to be the event that launches the rumoured (but at this point confirmed) iPhone Fold. Instead, this event seems to be more focused on iPhone 17e. This is the successor to the iPhone 16e from last year and will be featuring some notable improvements, but don't expect your socks to be blown off completely.

We can expect to see the new upgraded Apple A19 chipset and a 6.1” screen bump. Alongside this, expect to see the same square sensor 18MP selfie camera from the rest of the iPhone 17 family. We should also have Dynamic Island onboard as well. The new iPhone 17e is also suspected to include the latest CX Modem, MagSafe, and a 48MP rear camera. Pricing is looking to start from $599 and increase depending on storage configurations.

However, this is not the product that I am most excited about. That product is the potential return of the 12” MacBook. We don't have a massive amount of detail as to what this will be, but we suspect it to be powered by the A18 Pro Chipset, be housed in an all-aluminum chassis, and be available in multiple colours. If this can be priced under $1000, as speculated, then it may be a very cool alternative to some of the higher-end Chromebook Plus models and the Snapdragon-powered Windows laptop range. Personally, I am hoping for an entry-level model with a starting price of $600, but I may be wishing for a bit too much, as this is Apple after all!

Alongside the rumoured 12” MacBook, we can also expect to see the new M5 MacBook Air, M5 Pro and M5 Max powered MacBooks. These will be loosely aligned with current pricing, so deeper pockets are needed here.

There may also be new devices from the iPad, iPad Air, iPad Pro lines, along with some of the other Apple product portfolio; however, this has yet to be confirmed and is only speculation at the point.

The event may be split into several different keynote videos spread over a few days or all released on the same day, as it is believed that this will not be an in-person event at the Apple Cupertino campus.

The event is being referred to as "special Apple Experience" with locations of New York, London and Shanghai and will start at 9AM ET/ 2PM GMT/10PM CST time on March 4th.
